How Much Does Bridal Hair & Makeup Cost in Utah? (What to Expect)

When planning your wedding budget, one of the most common questions is: how much should I expect to spend on hair and makeup?

The answer depends on your location, the size of your party, and the overall timeline of your day. Understanding how pricing works — especially for destination or travel-heavy weddings — will help you plan realistically and avoid surprises.

Average Bridal Hair & Makeup Pricing in Utah

In Utah, professional bridal beauty services typically fall within this range:

  • Hair: $150–$200 per person

  • Makeup: $150–$200 per person

  • Hair & Makeup: $300–$400 per person

At Haven Makeup Studios:

  • Hair: $175

  • Makeup: $175

  • Hair & Makeup: $325

This reflects not just the service itself, but the experience, products, timeline planning, and coordination that go into your wedding morning.

Average Pricing for In-Valley Weddings

For weddings within the Salt Lake Valley or nearby areas, pricing is typically based on the number of services booked.

Most in-valley weddings do not require extended travel or full-day time commitments, so pricing generally stays within a standard per-service range.

At Haven Makeup Studios:

  • Hair: $175

  • Makeup: $175

  • Hair & Makeup: $325

A base travel fee of $150 is applied to all on-location bookings.

Additional travel may be required depending on total round-trip travel time, location, and conditions such as traffic, weather, or accessibility. Travel is calculated based on the full time required to travel to and from our studio to ensure accuracy, reliability, and a smooth start to your wedding day.

What Impacts Pricing

Several factors influence your final quote:

1. Number of People

The number of services determines how much time is required and how many artists are needed to complete everything on schedule.

2. Timeline & Start Time

Earlier start times or tighter timelines may require additional artists to ensure everyone is ready on time without rushing.

3. Location & Travel

For locations outside of the immediate Salt Lake Valley — including Park City, Deer Valley, Alta, Snowbird, and more remote areas — travel becomes a larger factor in overall pricing.

A base travel fee of $150 is applied to all on-location services, with additional travel calculated based on total round-trip travel time.

This includes real-world conditions such as traffic, weather, and location accessibility, ensuring accurate scheduling, punctual arrival, and a smooth start to your wedding day.

Destination Weddings & Day Rates

Destination and extended travel weddings are generally charged as a day rate.

At Haven Makeup Studios, we do charge a day rate for these types of bookings because they require reserving the majority — or entirety — of our day.

This can apply to both out-of-state destination weddings and in-state locations that require significant travel, such as Southern Utah (including St. George, Cedar City, and surrounding areas).

Our current day rate is $5,000, which includes a minimum of two artists and can accommodate up to seven people receiving both hair and makeup services.

Even if services themselves only take a few hours, your booking often includes:

  • travel to and from your location

  • extended time on-site

  • early morning start times or late return times

  • conditions that prevent us from accepting any other bookings that day

Because of this, you are not only paying for the time spent performing services — you are reserving that entire day.

If your event requires multiple days, each day will be billed separately at the applicable day rate.

Clients are responsible for all travel-related expenses, including airline tickets, ground transportation (such as rideshare or rental vehicles), and lodging accommodations when required.

For destination weddings — whether within Utah or out of state — it’s important to plan for a higher overall investment due to travel time, logistics, and availability.

This ensures we can fully commit to your event, maintain your timeline, and provide a seamless, well-organized experience without being rushed or overbooked.

Setting Realistic Expectations

Bridal beauty services are not just about the final look — they are about planning, logistics, and execution.

When you book a professional team, you’re investing in:

  • a structured timeline

  • coordinated services

  • and a calm, organized getting-ready experience

Understanding how pricing works helps you make informed decisions and avoid last-minute stress.

How to Get an Accurate Quote

To receive the most accurate quote, be prepared to provide:

  • your wedding date

  • getting-ready location

  • number of people needing services

  • your ready-by time

From there, your artist will build a custom timeline and determine the appropriate number of artists needed for your day.

Book Your Date

Your wedding morning should feel calm, organized, and effortless — not rushed or uncertain.

If you’re planning a wedding in Utah or a destination event and want a smooth, well-organized getting-ready experience, we’d love to be part of your day.

We recommend reaching out early to secure your date, as availability becomes limited during peak wedding season.

To inquire, simply reach out with your wedding date, location, and how many people will be needing services. From there, we’ll guide you through the next steps and create a plan tailored specifically to your day.
